LOCK-DOWN PROJECTS

A THREE STORY CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTRE FOR THE MOST VULNERABLE CHILDREN OF THE OLD
WASTE PICKER COMMUNITY AREA OF CAGAYAN DE ORO.

This centre will provides much needed space; not only for the 70 young women of our children’s village in CDO, focused on safe housing and rehabilitation of young victims of the sex trade, but also for 750 children from the surrounding, deeply underprivileged community.

A new primary school for the deeply underprivileged children of the Srae Nouy Commune, Varin District, Cambodia.

Without our support for a new building the children would continue to use an outdated, insufficient and unsafe building with a very low standard of education.

We broke ground in November 2020 and the doors opened in late Feb 2021.

A new, safe, bright and highly functional school in a small community to the south of the town.

A life changing project for these children who have been through so very much.

THE PAUL SWEET NURSERY, MAE SOT, THAILAND

A new nursery to replace a rotten, unsafe and highly impractical building for the deeply underprivileged Burmese migrant kids of the area.

We broke ground on this project in August 2021 and officially signed off the completed building on November 17th 2021.

A safe, happy and fun environment for children to learn and play for decades to come.

THE MORNING SCHOOL, MAE SOT, THAILAND.

A brand new school in Mae Sot, for the deeply underprivileged Burmese migrant kids of the area. A bright safe and happy place for these children to learn and play.

The DJ community continues to support our work and have provided instruments and funding for lessons, this is the girls performing with their new gear! The community once again paid for the girls annual Christmas party.

PROJECTS FOR 2023

One project will be devised from a reconditioned shipping container. We will also be building a 4km road to this project in Kor Krahom, which will be of huge benefit to the community.

Working with our trusted architecture and development partners, Building Trust International, we plan to build a much needed new learning centre in Popel, rural southern Cambodia, plus 2 more learning centres in rural Cambodia.

Proposed Design for 1 building, under community review.

The standard of schools and schooling in these areas is deeply sub standard and the children are losing out on opportunities in life because of this. The concept of learning centres is a tried, tested and successful solution to the children’s lack of education.

The purpose of the centres is to push students to pursue education levels far beyond that which the community typically achieves.

Students will have access to English classes, science, music, arts and crafts as well as a library.

The physical facilities will most likely consist of a technology centre (that can be locked up at night), a hand-washing/hygiene area, a kitchen, classrooms, and garden spaces.

The communities are extremely excited about this project and the benefits it will bring to their children, approximately 150 kids will be served by each project.
