GROUND BREAKING AND CONSTRUCTION UNDERWAY!
A new primary school for the deeply underprivileged children of the Srae Nouy Commune, Varin District, Cambodia.
The children currently attend an existing school 80km from Siem Reap which has 90 students and 4 teachers. We are building a brand new school that will vastly improve the day to day lives of the students and teachers.
We are keeping the building simple with a large roof that can provide space for outdoor learning and covered play. With built in flexibility for the school to adapt and grow within the space easily adding classrooms as they grow and need more space.
Due to flooding we were delayed by 10 days in breaking ground, during this time the team focused on building the furniture for the classrooms.
Mostly underground work so far, with columns starting next week.
We aim to open the new building in late Feb 2021.
