We have had a run of great weather meaning our new Child Development Centre construction is a little ahead of schedule. This centre will provide much-needed space not only for the 52 young women of our children’s village in CDO, but also for 750 children from the community slum areas. The centre will be focused on counselling, rehabilitation and vocational training.
Many of these young girls have been through unimaginable horrors at the hands of sex-traffickers, kidnappers and domestic abusers.
Kids in need of psycho-social services such as counselling, trauma-/psychotherapy will be treated at the centre, children with all kinds of needs ranging from social, educational, medical and legal/paralegal needs will seek assistance at the centre.
The next step in helping these incredibly brave young women move on to happier futures.
Building is going very well and we are laying the concrete for the 3rd level this week.
